This book is a joy to read and I’ve learned so much!
Loyal Customer Since: 2007I am so happy you have this book! I tried to make creams and lotions initially with the stearic acid, beeswax, Borax, water and oil method and was never successful. I always ended up with separation and it was nothing like lotion. I purchased this book and some Polawax (I already had the other basic ingredients), and have made some sensational creams and lotions from the excellent recipes in this book. The book is very easy to follow (although I had to convert the metric measurements) and there are some powerful recipes and remedies for all skin types. I am looking forward to making more of the recipes for different skin types as my recipe testers are VERY happy with the creams that I have made so far.

I have spent a small fortune in anti-wrinkle and anti-aging. I used the Pro-X, no results.
I read the directions and did exactly what I was supposed to do. Still, no results.
I cant find anything that works. I have lines around my eyes. They’re not terrible, it’s just that I want to keep it that way.
With eight children, it is a treat to get to buy something like that for myself. And when it doesn’t work I feel guilty. To buy it and it not work is a real let-down.
I wish I could find something that isn’t trying to get my money on their name.

Hi Anissa,
Boy, do I ever know how you feel! When I was younger I had terrible dry skin. I bought cream after cream after cream. Like you, I spent a small fortune!
Then, I stumbled upon essential oils and eventually that lead to me becoming an official “Aromatherapist”. The course requires that you learn about essential oils and carrier oils and that’s when my real passion was found. I love it so much it drives me crazy – it really does!
The reason I’m telling you that is because I started to make my own creams and other skincare products. When I follow my skin care routine, my skin is fantastic.
My point – there’s hope!
I write about alot of the commercial skincare products on this site because that’s what my readers ask for – and, for some people, they work.
BUT, they don’t work for everyone. No single cream CAN work for everyone. You do kinda have to try a whole bunch.
I am preparing a whole section on my site that includes my experiences with making my own anti wrinkle creams but, that won’t be a few months (sorry). In the meantime, if you’re interested in making your own cream you should check out some of Jan Benham’s books. She was my teacher and she’s absolutely brilliant!
