Mica with Methicone, also known as surface treated sericite, is a plain Mica (sericite) coated with dimethicone. Dimethicone is a type of silicone used primarily in the formation of free flowing cosmetic powders.
Dimethicone can also be found in cosmetic preparations such as skin surface sealant reduce trans-epidermal water loss through the skin. Water loss through the skin leads to the onset of fine lines and wrinkles.
It is a silky, soft semi-translucent powder that will reflect fine lines but does not offer much coverage, therefore it should be used alongside a powder with good covering abilities if you wish to have a high coverage foundation.
